My fandom which I will be writing about will be my hobby, which is going to the gym and working out in general. Reason why I think it’s important to my sense of identity is because I’m very passionate about it and to this day I still frequently go to the gym making it part of my life.
The fandom in which I shall be writing about shall be the Percy Jackson series of books. These books had made me the type of reader I am today and started my habit of reading. I ended up running out of space in my bookshelf so I got a kindle.

The fandom that relates to my sense of identity is Spoken Word poetry. I begin my paper by relaying the moment that I was first introduced to the art and that it’s not a mere hobby but has become pertinent fabric of who I am. That it is not the performing aspect of it as much as it is the writing and the creativity involved. Essentially, how performing and writing poetry reaffirms various parts of my identity as an Arab woman.
