For this assignment, I am thinking about doing an essay. This format will be used to give a clear explanation of the poem. I am also thinking about analyzing “3 Ways to Speak English” by Jamilah Lyiscott . This was fascinating to me because it was very deep and her enthusiasm drew my attention. She was basically explaining the different type of languages she speaks depending on who she’s speaking. She also mentioned that all languages are equal and that it influences history and shapes our identities. This format is unique because it can deeply explain Jamilah’s work. I want to analyze the pieces where she spoke about the languages being equal and when she said that hers was raped away from her and what that meant to me. I am planning on analyze these parts because I feel like it has a deeper meaning that can be explained in my essay
