Myth:<\/strong>\u00a0You can always recognize someone\u2019s background by the way he\/she talks.<\/em><\/p>\n

I believe this myth is not always true mainly because of the environment\u00a0a person grew up in. To give a better understanding of what I mean, here\u2019s an example: If you meet a person in the United States, chances are, by the way, they talk, you can probably guess which area that person is from. For example, a person from the south will probably have a southern accent so someone from New York can tell, \u201cOh, that person\u2019s not from around here.\u201d In cases where this may not be true are of a person who immigrates to the United States and speaks English perfectly, you either wouldn\u2019t be able to tell that English was their second language or that they haven\u2019t been living in the U.S. for very long. This example, I\u2019m presenting on the basis of personal experience. I\u2019ve met so many people that said that English was their second language or that they had recently come to the U.S. and can speak it well as anyone that\u2019s been living in the U.S. for a pretty long time.
