User Profile Photos provide an easy way for other members of the CUNY Humanities Alliance community to recognize other members and become familiar with them and their work. This can also help facilitate in-person relationships.
In this guide, we will show how to add, change, or delete your Profile Photo to ensure that you have the Profile Photo you want to be available accessible to those in the CUNY Humanities Alliance community.
We will also go over how to add or modify your Profile Cover Image.
Step 1 — Login to Your Account
If you are not logged in already, be sure to type in your Username and Password in the fields provided on the right-hand side of the website, as shown in the screenshot below.
With those details entered, you can click the “Log In” button in order to login to the website.
Step 2 — Access Your Profile
Once you are logged in, you will see your Username on the right-hand side of the website, where the login fields used to be.
When you see those details, you can select the link for your name (in the example below it is “Lisa Tagliaferri”).
When you hover over your name, you will see it highlight in blue as a hyperlink. Click on the link.
When you click on the link you will be taken to your User page.
The User page will show your recent Activity, along with Profile, Messages, Friends, etc.
From this page, you will be able to Change your Profile Photo.
Step 3 — Add or Change Profile Photo
With the Change Profile Photo field selected, you’ll be taken to the following page:
You’ll notice that there are three tabs with options available:
- Upload
- On this tab, you can drop the image of the Profile Photo you would like to add here, or click the Select your File button to select your file from your computer’s file system.
- Take Photo
- On this tab, you will be asked to allow the browser access to your computer’s camera, if you have one. You can use this to take a photo of yourself to use as your Profile Photo.
- Delete
- If you no longer want a Profile Photo associated with your account, you can select this option.
In the case that you have chosen to Upload a Photo, you’ll need to crop the image. You’ll see a screen that looks like this:
You can expand the square of the cropped image as desired, then click on the words “Crop Image” below the photo on the right-hand side.
Once you have selected “Crop Image” you will receive confirmation that your new Profile Photo was successfully uploaded.
Step 4 — Change Cover Image
You can change your Profile’s Cover Image in a very similar way to uploading your Profile Photo. To begin, click on “Change Cover Image” from your Profile page.
From here, either drop your image file into the box or click “Select your File” to browse for the image file within your computer’s file system.
Note that for best results, an image that is greater than 610 pixels wide and 225 pixels tall is ideal.
Once you upload the image, you will receive a status bar showing the progress of the upload. When the file is fully uploaded, you’ll receive confirmation that the upload was successful.
You now have the option to delete your Cover Image as well.
With the Cover Image successfully uploaded, you’ll be able to see it on your Profile page, as shown in the example below.
