The experience of trauma during the migration process and its portrayal in Anon(ymous)

The different causes of migration by refugees, undocumented migrants and any vulnerable demographic.

Different methods of migration and their risks

Traumas experienced during migration

Structure of support upon arrival

The migration process and its consequences as portrayed in Anon(ymous)

Is it accurate? Does it define Anon? Why?

Does deterrence work as a strategy and does the US have a responsibility to the migrants and refugees before they arrive in the US? (Thesis here: it does not, and yes, the US has a responsibility to refugees and undocumented migrants).

  1. Fede,

Thanks so much for posting this — I like the insight into your thought process here. To reiterate what we were discussing in class, I think it would be really useful to shift away from “does” (yes/no question) and toward “how does”/”what are the impacts of”, etc. And, all of these should be filtered through Anon(ymous) — so, what responsibilities did the U.S. demonstrate toward Anon (think of Calista, Mackus, Ali, etc.). What were the different responses of people to him, and how might that reflect a broader cultural phenomena of reception of immigrants and responsibilities toward migrants and refugees?

You have so many sharp thoughts — I know you’re gonna be able to turn this into a very insightful piece!!
