LaGuardia Mellon Humanities Scholars Application 2018-2019 Now Open

The LaGuardia Mellon Humanities Scholars is a program, supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, meant for LaGuardia students from various majors who want to deepen their understanding of the Humanities and jobs within the Humanities, as well as build humanities pathways towards graduation and future education and career.

Students selected for this group will create year-long projects, in collaboration within academic and student affairs, that will further the students scholarly and career pursuits and benefit the college-wide community. With the student at the center, this group works within their major, attends (co-curricular) humanities enrichment activities, and is advised by peers (vice-versa), graduate fellows, and faculty mentors.

LaGuardia Mellon Humanities Scholars receive a $1,000 stipend, and free tickets and metro cards to attend select cultural enrichment activities. They are expected to attend biweekly meetings on Tuesday evenings, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm (dates provided in the application form) and least two enrichment activities.

Applications are due by Monday, April 30, 2018. They will need the name of a faculty member who is willing to act as a reference. P
