DESCRIPTION

This event is a celebration of Latinx culture at LaGaurdia Community College. Our definition of Latinx is very broad–it includes Latin American and Latino-Caribbean cultures as well. You do not have to be Latino to attend this event–we want all faculty and student to come help us celebrate the diversity of Latinx culture at LaGuarida.

The event includes academic and creative panels, dramatic readings, and talks about social/political topics affecting Latinx cultures on campus. The keynote speaker this year is Brooklyn-born Dominicana author Angie Cruz. Her book and the books of three other Latinx faculty authors will be offered free to the first 50 students to attend! There is also free food! So come and help us celebrate all the great things going on with Latinx culture on campus.
