Wednesday, April 26, 5:00 – 7:30 pm
Graduate Center, Room 9206
The Futures Initiative is hosting a Bystander Intervention/(De)escalation Training with trainers from the Center for Anti-Violence Education. If you plan to attend, please RSVP at Eventbrite.
Here’s more information about the event from the Futures Initiative blog:
“As a continuation of our recent University Worth Fighting For event titled, “Global Perspectives on the Fight for Higher Education,” we contend that such efforts must not only be theoretical and limited to the classroom, but it must also be lived, practical and embodied. To that end (and continuation), we will host a Bystander Intervention/(De)escalation training on Wednesday, April 26 from 5-7:30pm.
Futures Initiative Graduate Fellow Allison Guess will briefly frame this upcoming event to further translate what she referred to as the “ontological obligation” and aspect of higher education. Instruction will be provided by the Center for Anti-Violence Education. Graduate Center students and staff are encouraged to participate.”
